OSAKA CASTLE
Osaka Castle construction began in 1583, under the Toyotomi rule. In 1615, the castle was attacked and destroyed by Tokugawa forces, which also proved to be the demise of the Toyotomi clan. The castle was rebuilt by Tokugawa Hidetada in the 1620’s, but it was struck by lightning in 1665 and was burnt down once again. Only in 1931 was it rebuilt.
